Painted nails have become my favourite accessory, each hue represents a mood I’m feeling or a style I’m representing. Today I will be showcasing The MAVALA symphonic collection which is an elegant selection of harmonious neutral and smear nudes. MAVALA is a Swiss brand with a heritage spanning over 50 years, they specialise in high quality beauty products and their nail polishes are renowned for their long-lasting quality, using the finest ingredients.
Each shade is named after a city and there are 6 in the collection to pick from. The packaging is perfection, the 5ml pots are the perfect size for travel or to pop into your handbag for on the go. They are housed in a box that has a magnetic snap lid to store each pot. The Nail Polish comes in a little glass bottles with gold tops and the bristles of the brushes are long, thin and flexible which makes application very easy. The unique formula delivers microscopic air pockets to allow nails to breath, ensuring your natural nails are cared for. Each mini pot contains 2 small mixing balls, in order to efficiently shake the bottle before use to break the thixotropy inherent in the product and to restore its appropriate consistency and colour.
The colours are long lasting, highly pigmented and only require 2 thin coats to achieve the perfect finish. After two coats and less than 5 minutes to dry, it offered a rich solid colour. The scent is not too strong and the colour lasted about 5 days without chipping. Every shade is eco friendly and are free from harmful ingredients such as parabens, formaldehydes, toluene, camphore, cellophane, animal ingredients and heavy metal.
80 Pokhara a marsala wine red-brown, that adds richness and subtleness.
81 Buenos Aires a woodland brown, embracing and passionate, like a tango.
82 Samara a winter sun, infinitely burnt by the earth.
83 Dublin not orange, nor beige, nor pink, a cream rose of the sky after the rain.
84 Tallinn a soft cosy cashmere rose, to brave the freezing blizzard.
85 Chicago a metallic brown violet, underground and mysterious.
MAVALA is offering one of my lucky Aussie readers the chance to win the Nail Polish Symphonic Collection. Use the widget below to enter this competition.
Symphonic Color’s, an anthem of Autumn tones !
A northern wind has blown in across the autumn 2016 catwalks from the High Plains of the New World, and the wide landscapes of Central Asia.
Designers have drawn their inspiration from Nature and from fashion archives, harmoniously mixing soft textures such as fur, suede, shearling, boiled wool, Irish knits with ornate prints and detailing, imperial golden brocade, sophisticated embroideries, oriental trimmings and folk prints bringing a touch of gypsy. From this wave of rediscovery have arisen creations full of emotion, of eclectic superpositions, of tones from Earth, fire and rock, sensational combinations, all in the eternal quest for authentic elegance.
MAVALA let itself be carried by this wind from the North and conceived a collection in tribute to Autumn: welcoming, romantic, symphonic, with lyrical and joyful impressions of flamboyant and warm colors. Moved by a Bohemian mood, SYMPHONIC Color’s offer 6 tones, subtle, caressing and encompassing, with softness and elegance, full of hope to counter the winter chill.
- Test consistency of polish on nail tip before beginning.
- Begin by applying polish down to the centre of the nail in one stroke, from base to tip, leaving a small space between polish and cuticle.
- Apply polish to cuticle base, stopping just short of the cuticle.
- Lift brush and stroke one side of nail from base to the tip, avoiding the cuticle.
- Stroke other side of nail from base to tip.
