Lunch Break Facelift or PicoWay Resolve as they call it has been a big topic of discussion with my friends and family these past few months. There have been talks about what it can treat, how many sessions are needed and whether it’s painful, risky or worth it. With so many queries I thought it would be fun to answer some of the frequently asked questions and give you my final thoughts as well as share my before and after photos.
What is PicoWay Resolve? The PicoWay Resolve Laser is the most advanced laser solution which utilizes a handheld device to revitalize the skin by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin for youthful looking skin. It can also be used to remove permanent tattoos in fewer treatments more effectively. Only Doctors can use this medical grade 4 laser and it is only available in two places in Perth.
What’s it like? During your visit, they will first apply a numbing cream all over the face to minimize any discomfort during the procedure. You will be given safety eye wear before they begin using a laser hand piece which will deliver ultra-short picosecond pulses of energy for the treatment of pigmentation, signs of ageing and skin irregularities. Immediately after the treatment, they will apply a cool compress over the face to soothe the skin, then send you home with a cooling ointment. Your doctor may recommend 3-4 treatments (the number of treatments depends on your skin’s needs) done at monthly intervals for best results.
What can it treat? It can be used to address a variety of skin conditions and signs of ageing including Fine lines/Wrinkles, Age/Sun Spots, Pigmentation, Freckles, Loose skin, Improve skin texture, Reduce pore size and Acne Scars.
How did I prep for it? I purchased a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 50+ and also packed a headband and cleansing mitt to remove the topical anesthetic (numbing cream) which gets applied to the face 20 minutes prior to the treatment. For the first few days after the treatment, you will need to use an Aloe Vera cooling gel and a gentle facial cleanser. Be sure to avoid exposure to excessive sunlight, saunas, swimming, and self-tanning products.
Is it safe for all skin types? I am not a doctor but I do believe it is safe. PicoWay technology uses the highest peak power and shortest pulse duration of any picosecond device on the market for superior efficacy, safety and comfort. There was no pain and little to no downtime, my face was a bit pink for an hour after the first treatment but it was hardly noticeable.
Is it worth it? Absolutely! The results are amazing. The procedure helped reduced my fine lines and wrinkles, pore size, the appearance of sunspots, and textured skin. My face feels firmer and smoother, I am more confident in wearing less makeup and I have been told my skin has a radiant glow to it.

This still sounds really cool, I have never tried anything like it! The results are definitely speaking for themselves, your skin is looking incredible. I might have to see if there is something similar in Canberra xx
I hope there is 🙂
I need this for my pigmentation!!!
You should do it! It is so worth it 🙂
Omg I SO need this for my pores! It looks so good!
Thank you! It made a huge difference for me.
I’m not sure if I could use this laser treatment as I’ve had a malignant melanoma in the past and I think lasers might be contraindicated for me.
I understand your concern.
I love that it treats so many different skincare concerns! Sounds like a great treatment 🙂
