I would not call myself an expert at applying makeup and for many of you like myself, it can be slightly intimidated using black eyeshadow, however a smouldering smokey eye can be achieved using lighter pigments and it can be universally flattering on any eye shape. Today I am featuring 3 of Scout Cosmetics Mineral Eyeshadows, their entire range is rich in pigment and come in a variety of colours. These multi-purpose powders can be worn as eye shadow, highlighter, eyebrow powder or eyeliner.
Available in 11 stunning shades: Lilac Wine, Fade to Grey, LA Woman, Moon Shadow, New Beginning, Purple Rain, Run Baby Run, She, Sunday Girl, The Promise & In the Flesh.
The formula is gentle on the eyelids and passes the test in colour payoff, longevity and blendability. The texture glides on smoothly and can be worked both wet and dry. The colours are easy to use and blend well together, you can create a subtle day wear or build the intensity for a dramatic evening look.
Price: $24.95 AUD
To create a basic timeless smokey look I began by prepping my eyes using an eyeshadow primer, this important step will allow for a smoother application, hold your eye makeup in place and prevent it from creasing. I start with the colour She and sweep it all over my eyelid blending it out slightly towards my eyebrow. Next I dab my brush over the shade Run Baby Run, tap off any excess then work it along the edge of the lash and across the outer corners of the eyes. Using a soft brush blend until the edges fade softly into your skin. I finish off by adding a few coats of mascara and highlighting my brow bone and inner corner of my eye with the shade Sunday Girl. If you want to go full glam, add a bit more shadow under the water line in the outer corner of the eye, draw a wing and pop in some falsies.
Tips on applying loose Eyeshadows:
- Tap your loose eyeshadow into the lid of your container.
- Dip the brush into the loose eyeshadow and tap off any excess product.
- Pat the color slowly onto the lid.
- You can use translucent powder under your eyes to catch the fallout, then sweep it away when you’re done.
Smokey eyes will never go out of style, are you ready to drape your lids with these dreamy shadow?
